UGM Archive | November 2010
Greetings saints,
We had a wonderful time as we celebrated the thirty-third consecutive month at the Union Gospel Mission on Friday night 11/19/2010. The evening opened with Pastor Mike Revell and the New Covenant Fellowship Worship team leading us in worship songs personally written and composed by some of the team members. As we enjoyed a great atmosphere filled with the very presence of God,
Pastor Danny Arroyo shared a powerful
word filled with personal experiences of his life’s journey. Using the Biblical story in the book of Luke, he reminded us all that at one time we were all prodigal sons and daughters. “We have all made choices that have led us to be where we are now.” Like the prodigal son–who at a time thought he knew it all and refused to listen to the counsel and advice of his father–we also share a moment in life where believing we know what’s best we choose to ignore the counsel and direction of our Father in heaven and go astray in our walk. Others find themselves in the circumstances they are in because of the lack of proper direction by their parents and lack of love at home. Yet, Pastor Danny reminded all present that we were created for a purpose, and to have a life-long fellowship with God.
The
reality that we are not guaranteed tomorrow should provoke us to analyze our current situation and make a decision to live for God today. Just like the prodigal son was able to return to his father, we also have been given the opportunity to return to our heavenly Father through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Jesus is the only way! The night ended with the Epic volunteers leading 11 men into the Kingdom of God with the prayer of salvation (Hallelujah), and several others who requested prayers for healing in family members, direction in life, and stability in their relationship with God.
Join us next month on December 17 when psalmist Iris Lopez will lead praise followed by an anointed man of God, Wendell Rogers Jr. You do not want to miss the last service of 2010 at the UGM Outreach. Contact the Epic office today and tell them God sent you to be a blessing to the homeless of Sacramento.
Amen & God bless.
Minister Jose Rodriguez
