Greetings saints,

Another miracle catch night at the Union Gospel Mission on Friday May 21st. Lives were touched in wonderful ways from the time we entered the door of the Mission, men and women who are homeless, downcast, struggling with drug addiction and those with broken families request prayer even before the service began.

A man, who was my bunkmate while in the drug program years ago, requested prayer for deliverance from drug addiction. Memories flooded my mind as I prayed for God to renew his mind and lift the burden of drug addiction from him. I have prayed for this same man in times past in hope of witnessing a change of behavior and ultimately a change of direction. I asked the Lord, “What does it take for a man to change his ways?” Little did I know the answer would come during the service!

After the reading of the nightly rules, which is a tradition of the Mission, the service began with praise and worship lead by Alex Williams and Miranda Tamashiro. Alex played the guitar while Miranda played the piano and they both took turns leading songs. The presence of God was definitely in the place and hearts were motivated to receive His word.

At the appropriate time, Minister Jose Rodriguez preached a powerful message from Mark 8:22-24 concerning the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida. Minister Rodriguez helped us see that the mud Jesus used on the blind man included His very own DNA, thus recreating the man’s eyes to see. Relating this story to the reason why man cannot see his way today is the fact we do not have Jesus’ DNA until we allow Him into our lives.

The altar was full with men who wanted a touch from Jesus and have their spiritual eyes recreated in order to see and experience the kingdom of God. Epic Bible College prayer warriors stood in agreement with those who sought after a life free from drug addiction, requesting family restoration and strength to stand strong. What a humbling experience to be part of lives requiring change.

Join us next month, June 18, as we journey to the Mission again with the sword in our hand and in our mouth to minister life to those in need of Jesus. An anointed praise and worship group will bless us while Professor Dana Sudborough, a long-time missionary, brings forth a word of salvation. Contact Epic Bible College office today and help us deliver the answer to the question, “What does it take for a man to change his ways?” the DNA of Jesus.
