Elaine:
This month at the Union Gospel Mission
we had the largest alter call of the year; twenty one guests came up for prayer, six of those were for salvation. The worship of Lillian Ocampo singing and Onan Lop on the acoustic guitar was so sweet and simple that the Holy Spirit filled the building. The voices of the guests rang out as they sang “How He Loves Us”. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:15 “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing”. The most compelling evidence that Christ is alive and triumphant is His activity in the lives of His people. It is a privilege to be the fragrance of Christ by which others learn of God’s life-changing power over sin. Our lives ought to be convincing proof to those in our midst that God is powerfully at work in the lives of His people. I encourage you to come join our team next month as we are the fragrance of Christ to the lost and broken guests at the mission.
Bubby: What really impacted me from the mission was when I got up early Sunday morning and began my time with the Lord; then, as I began to read the prayer list sent out to all the students and prayer warriors, I had a sense of the Fathers heart. God revealed to me that even though the mission guests are bound by many poor choices, He still loves and truly hears their cries for help. Listen to some of their cries for help: Pedro asked the Lord to stop his thug lifestyle & finish high school or GED, Robert ask God to protect those who protect him on the streets, like the police, fire dept & medical personnel. Shevetha prayed for her children to attend school; indeed this is why we have been sent, “He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us” ( 2 Corinthians. 1:4), amen!
Pastor Jack delivered the perfect message stating, “We should go beyond coming to the altar; yet, we must make a discovery of who we are in Christ”. Come participate with us next month July 15th as Psalmist Brad Clark leads praise and Minister Danny Arroyo preach an anointed word of liberty. Sign up today in the Epic Bible College office and remember you are helping make a difference.
