The night began with DJ Holy Ghost spinning some tracks, which caused an immediate change in the atmosphere at the Union Gospel Mission. As people began to enjoy the tunes, Matthew Balling, a.k.a. Chosen ministered through his rap songs alongside Michael Thomas, a.k.a. Prodigal Child. Together they invited everyone to participate in their songs and celebrate the freedom found in Christ. It wasn’t long before all at the Gospel Mission were on their feet with their hands up dancing, singing, and making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Worship songs combined with lyrics, which many could relate to, allowed the Holy Spirit to come and soften hearts as the preparation made for the receiving of the Word.

“You could have been dead, you could have been in jail right now, but His love for you and His mercy has lifted you out of the place you were in”, spoke Minister Wendell Rodgers. Quoting from Luke 15, Minister Wendell shared that at one point just like the Prodigal Son we all found ourselves at the lowest point of our lives eating with the pigs after wasting all everything the Father had given us. No one else is responsible for getting us there other than the bad selfish choices we make in life. “Is this where God wants me to be?” asked Minister Wendell. After a while, getting drunk gets old, jail gets old, using drugs gets old. Yet we cannot allow drugs, alcohol, or anything else in our current situation to steal or dictate our future. Having nowhere else to go but up, we must allow God to lift us out of the pits we find ourselves in and begin to run directly back into the hands of the Father. Stop running the wrong way. Start running all the way, don’t stop till you arrive in His arms again.

Upon giving the invitation for salvation, 22 men and women came to the altar receiving Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Come join us at our next outreach March 18 as Iris Lopez leads praise and Dennis Gaxiola ministers the Word of God. Contact the Epic office today to pledge your commitment and see what direction Hoy Ghost has in store this month to win soul for the kingdom. Amen.
