Greetings saints,
The Union Gospel Mission is a place that caters to the homeless of Sacramento. Men and women of all backgrounds come to be fed. The men receive a shower after dinner and sleep in a warm bed. One of the most touching things I have seen is a mother with her two year old child and the child is walking in the rain without shoes. My heart goes out to that mother and most of all to the two year old child.
The way to be a blessing to the children is to be a blessing to the parents. Many of the parent s who frequent the mission have drug abuse backgrounds and need guidance spiritually,
mentally, emotionally and financially. Epic Bible College enters the Mission once every third Friday to provide spiritual guidance. Parents have the opportunity to accept this spiritual guidance and allow Jesus to come into their lives and deliver them from this present evil world.
Here is where Epic Bible College comes in as we go forth in the power of the Spirit. This month praise and worship — lead by Kristy Stevens — began the service ministering and guiding hearts in a unique and special way. After the last song “Amazing Grace,” Minister Bubby Wallace preached a simple salvation message stating, “The only one who can solve our problems is Jesus.” The problems he spoke about came from Galatians 5:19-21 such as; “impurity, sexual immorality, idolatry, witchcraft and more…”
The pictures you see with this praise report is only a glimpse into the reality that occurs every month at the Union Gospel Mission. As a prayer warrior you see the faces up close and personal, you look into stilled and empty eyes, you hear the earnest stories and help wipe tears of the person with a heavy heart, then is when you experience the love of Jesus in action. God’s love transcends all the problems of this world and brings a since of calm to a rattled situation.
Join us next month March 19th as we help guide tattered lives to Jesus and help calm the storm in a parent’s life. The devil is trying to destroy our children and one of the ways he does this is through a drug addicted mom or dad. Pastor Michael Revell is leading praise with the New Covenant Fellowship Worship Team, Jan Bernard will give a special testimony, and Minister Wendell Rogers will bring forth an anointed word of God. Contact the Epic Bible College office today for further details and may the Lord richly bless all parents and children.
