Checkout
A total of 10 items may be checked out at any given time. Additional limits include: three items per subject, 1 Bible, 1 audio material (CD or Cassette tape), and 1 video material (DVD or Videocassette) may be checked out at any given time.   The normal checkout period is two weeks for books, pamphlets, and audio media.  The checkout period for video media items (DVD or VHS) is one week.

Reference materials and current textbooks may be checked out for a four hour period (or up to 30 minutes before closing, whichever is first) and used on-campus only. This means these items may be viewed anywhere on the EPIC Bible College campus (i.e. computer lab, student study areas, classrooms, etc.) but are not to leave the building for any reason at any time.

Please return all checked out items to LRC/Library. If the LRC/Library is closed, items may be returned to the EPIC office.

Renewals

Items may be renewed one time only, (unless there is a hold on that item) for another two weeks. Following a two-day or 48-hour waiting period, the same item(s) may be checked out again if there are no holds or previous requests for the item. You may phone or come into the LRC/Library to renew your books.

Reference items, current textbooks, and video media items (DVD or VHS) may not be renewed.

Holds
Holds may be placed on items that are currently checked out to another person. If there is a hold placed on a book, it cannot be renewed. The person placing the hold will receive a call, or written notice, when the item has been returned.  A $1.00 per day fee will be assessed for each book that has been placed on hold (and not returned by the due date) if the current patron has been notified of the hold status on the book.

Overdue fines
A fine of $.25 a day per item occurs when books/items are not returned by their due date. Overdue fines for DVD’s and Videocassettes are $1.00 per day.

An overdue fine of $0.50 an hour per item occurs on Reference materials and current textbooks if returned even 1 minute late.
When the overdue fines total $5.00 per item – the unreturned item will be considered lost, and the student will be charged the cost of the item plus a $15.00 processing fee. This will automatically cancel any checkout privileges until reinstated by the Librarian as per Library policy. A copy of such action will be placed in the student’s file. Returning the item(s) in good condition will waive the outstanding charges for the item and the processing fee(s).  An overdue fine will be assessed and must be paid before person is reinstated to LRC/Library use.

Please contact the LRC/Library if you have any questions concerning these policies.
